Centro Stefano Franscini Award

Bart de Keijzer of CWI Amsterdam received the Centro Stefano Franscini Award for the best presentation by a young scientist in the recently concluded Matching Markets Conference (20-23 May, 2012) in Ascona, Switzerland.

Bart presented a paper written by us on "Housing Markets with Indifferences: a Tale of Two Mechanisms". The paper examines the problem of reallocating resources such as dormitory rooms or kidneys among strategic agents. Although TTC solves housing markets with strict preferences, things become interesting when agents can express indifferences between houses. We examined two recently introduced mechanisms for this more general setting. If you are attending AAAI this year in Toronto, the paper will be presented there.
